Significant savings on bought in fertiliser can be made if you maximise the fertiliser value of your slurry. Trial data from tests carried out in the UK and Europe shows that using a slurry additive (such as Slurry King) can increase total-N in pig slurry systems by as much as 33% and ammonia-N by as much as 57%. In cattle slurry systems, the figures are 11% and 51% respectively*.
Using an additive can liquefy your slurry, making the consistency more even, so that you can apply nutrients more evenly on your land. Thinner slurry also means less time and energy (and money) spent on mixing and pumping, as surface crust and floor solids are greatly reduced.
